The Wake up And Support others Organization (WASO) is a registered non-profit and Non-Governmental Organization that primarily focuses on advocating for Vulnerable Men, Women and Children to access socioeconomic and health services.
WASO is headquartered in Dar Es Salaam with branch office in Korogwe district council in Tanga region. The branch office in Korogwe was established in June, 2022 in order to advocate for the attainment of socioeconomic inclusiveness and response to the challenges on access to health services among the KVP communities. To date, WASO has been implementing AFHR/PEPFAR funded projects on HIV and Violence prevention and response among KVP in Korogwe town council. Moreover, the organization has established a vocational training college known as WASO ACADEMY that will mainly conduct trainings on beauty and Cosmetology, International languages orientation, Entrepreneurship, Hotel Management and others. Establishment of the Academy is a continuation of the organization Social Enterprise project that was earlier seed-funded by CDC through American International Health Alliance (AIHA). The organization though is searching for potential donors and good Samaritans who would support scholarships for the majority needy KVPs interested to join the WASO academy.
