Advocate for health, education, economic, and gender rights focusing on provision
of services in order to bring understanding among the community that enshrine
non-discrimination.

                                                                                           GOAL
To participate in improving the wellbeing of the Key and Vulnerable Populations (KVPs) toward involvement and access to the basic Social-economic, health and human rights.

                                                                                        OBJECTIVES.

WASO as an organization for Key and Vulnerable Populations in Tanzania has the following objectives:

Main Objective

  1. To advocate for the full attainment of social economic, human and health rights of Key and Vulnerable Populations in the community.

Specific objectives

  1. Promote community positive attitude toward the Key and Vulnerable Populations by addressing effects of all forms of discrimination on the basis of Disabilities, age, HIV status, economic status and gender.
  2. Develop, empower, educate, train and give skills to Key and Vulnerable Populations in Tanzania mainland so as to create a united focused infrastructure that will support their overall wellbeing and welfare through innovative and emerging opportunities.
  3. Collaborate with other CSOs and various government bodies(TACAIDS,NSCP,NACOPHA, Municipals etc.) in Tanzania mainland to offering a one-stop point(eg: Resource information center etc) that ensures access to health/information among the Key and Vulnerable Populations.
  4. Sensitize community to accept and assist the sick/affected individuals in the community
  5. Educate the community/Key and Vulnerable Populations on the importance of good health and nutrition

NUMBER OF STAFFS
Currently WASO has a total number of 12 employees. These include: Program Director, Program Manager, Clinician, HTC Nurse, Nurse Counselor, Case Manager, Data Manager, Data Clerk, SBCC Program Officer, Finance and Administration Officer, Finance and Administration Assistant, and Office Assistant. Also, the organization has three (3) professional volunteers attached to respective departments according to their professional specialization. Similarly the organization has 14 community based volunteers officially known as Peer Educators (PEs) deployed in all Project wards of Temeke Municipality .

On the other hand organization also works with 8 government Health Care Providers (HCPs) stationed at the public health facilities.
